A planning sensitive location on the urban rural fringe reqired a high quality low cost solution that would harmonize with the landscape. These requirements combined with stringent water run off to avoid flood risk issues and the incoming top quality tenants requirements for a sustainable construction solution led to the specification of what we believe to be the UK's first green roof across an entire retail park. The design has proved exceptionally popular during public consultation, with planning determination expected in summer 2013. Tenants will start trading in 2014/15. Estimated build cost, including susbstantial highways works is £10M.
